Description

Giulia Mangoni (Isola del Liri, 1991) lives and works in Isola del Liri.

Giulia Mangoni is an Italian-Brazilian artist whose practice revolves around the ethics of return; she is interested in creating interventions orchestrated through the lens of painting in order to deconstruct notions of memory and identity attached to specific geographies and communities. Her work develops through visual modes of personal storytelling, often the result of a multi-voice dialogue, whose different influences, relationships and contributions trigger a mechanism similar to the wireless telephone, capable of giving rise to works in constant evolution. Born in Isola del Liri, FR, Mangoni was raised between Italy and Brazil and now lives and works in her hometown.
